Describing itself as a Singaporean self-funded startup, Geolah is a new ride-hailing app that is based in Singapore and charges its drivers zero commission fees.

The co-founder of Geolah, Deniel Singh, said that the company will be earning revenue through other avenues instead.

Drivers who join Geolah will be able to earn more from their jobs and pay for their car rental, petrol and parking, among others.

The app is also using artificial intelligence (AI) to run their calculation of trip fares, as well as using an algorithm to match rides, which Geolah says they hope will provide fare stability to their passengers.

The system will take into account information such as the distance of the trip, the weather and peak hours, when deciding on the fares for the trip.

Passengers will also be able to choose between private hire vehicles, fixed meter taxis or even hire a private chauffeur for up to 8 hours.

Singh spoke to Tech In Asia and promised lower fares for their customers compared to their competitors, for peak hours, and that they will be introducing other services in the months to come, such as carpooling and deliveries.

They are also looking to expand into countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

They have so far recruited more than 2,000 drivers in 6 weeks, and have secured partnerships with companies based in the blockchain, car rental and travel industries.

They have also applied for their LTA licenses and is expected to get approval in March.
