An accident happened between an SBS Transit bus and a NUS school feeder bus, with the two buses crashing head-on within the premises of the school.
Photos of the accident emerged online on 28 February, with the crash allegedly happening near the Engineering block of NUS.
The SBS bus service 95, was looping from Clementin Road through Kent Ridge and NUS, and the road was blocked after the crash.
SBS Transit confirmed that their service 95 bus was involved in an accident on 28 February at about 12.05pm with a campus shuttle bus.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, three people were taken to hospital, including a 41-year-old male bus captain and two female passengers, 25 and 36; 2 other people were assessed by the SCDF paramedics for minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
NUS and SBS transit both confirmed that they are assisting with police investigations.
SBS Transit’s statement
“Our topmost priority is on the well-being of the passengers and drivers of both buses. A passenger from each of the bus as well as the driver of the shuttle bus were conveyed to hospital.
We are also aware that passengers from both vehicles have also sought medical treatment on their own and we are trying to get in touch with all of them, including through the University, to extend care and assistance as best we can.
