When I decided to become a digital nomad and move to Johor Bahru, I knew it was a risk.
I had no idea what it would be like, and I didn’t know anyone there either. But I’m so glad I took the plunge and made the move – it’s been 6 months and it’s been an incredible journey so far.
Johor Bahru is nearby, just across the causeway from Singapore. Moving here was a big change for me, coming from Singapore. I was worried that it might be too different, but I quickly realized that there was a lot to love about Johor Bahru.
The first thing I noticed was the peace and quiet. Singapore can be quite noisy and crowded at times, so it was nice to have a change of pace. The streets of Johor Bahru are much quieter, and it’s a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The cost of living is also a lot cheaper here than in Singapore. The rent is much lower, and food is much more affordable. I love going to the local markets and trying out all the delicious food, and it doesn’t cost much at all. I’ve also been able to save more money since moving to Johor Bahru, which has been great.
The people here in Johor Bahru are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everyone has been so welcoming and accommodating to me, which has made the transition much easier. It’s been really nice to get to know the locals, and I’ve made some great friends here.
Johor Bahru is also a great place to explore. There are some beautiful beaches nearby, and there are also plenty of hiking trails in the area. I’ve been able to explore the city and the surrounding areas, and I’m always finding new places to explore.
I’m so glad I decided to move to Johor Bahru. It’s been an incredible experience, and I’m so glad I took the risk. It’s been 6 months now and I’m still loving it here. The peaceful environment, the cheap cost of living, the friendly people – there’s so much to love about Johor Bahru.
I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months has in store for me!
