BUS DRIVER REFUSES TO LET PEOPLE BOARD, ONLY OPENS BACK DOOR TO LET PEOPLE ALIGHT

Why bus let people down don’t let people board

Advertisements

I don’t understand. I board bus 72 daily heading to yck station at 8.15 daily. The bus is usually full, just like most buses are at this time.

Usually, at my stop, 3-4 people will get off the bus. However sometimes, the bus driver just opens the back door to let people get off, not even open the front door to let anyone come in, and just leave.

Once, someone boarded the bus through the back door, and the bus driver shouted at him to get down, even though there was space.

What is especially infuriating is that usually, there will be more than enough space for people to move in, especially those backward facing seats in the back row of the first deck, and many (usually minimum 5-10) open seats on the second deck.

I usually see little to no effort from bus drivers to ask people to move in to let others have a place. they would much rather have people not board at all.

  1. It’s just a bad bus captain and you should send a detailed complaint with his behaviour and the tie of incident and bus number etc. my experience is that they take note and discipline the driver.
In my personal experience whenever the bus is crowded, the captain lets people get onboard from the rear door and enables the people to tap in on the reader at the back. He just needs to enable it with some button on his panel.
So most captains are smart and can handle crowds well. For those who cannot you should complain and they will put them on “less stressful” routes.
  2. never seen this occur before to be honest. maybe these designated route 72 drivers (morning shift) are just , different? used to always take 72 at around 8:30-9:00 for my PT work and they always let people board regardless of how late they are
  3. It’s stressful to drive at peak period.
They have a timing to meet. That’s their main kpi.
