She had worked for Boeing for almost 36 years, and bought the lottery ticket because the prize money was USD$747 million, as a nod to Boeing delivering its last 747 jumbo jet that very week, according to Fox 13.

She was with her daughter on 5 February buying groceries when she saw a sign on a lottery vending machine advertising the jackpot of $747 million.

Seeing it as a sign because of the prize money and the Boeing jumbo jet both bearing the number 747, she then bought a lottery ticket.

She ended up winning the jackpot and took home $754.6 million, which was the ninth-biggest Powerball win in the history of the US.

The Fred Meyer grocery store that sold the woman the winning ticket, also received a $50,000 bonus, which they donated to the Auburn Food Bank to provide 66,000 meals to the community.

The owner of the grocery store also gave $10,000 to the store to throw a celebration among their employees.

The jackpot win was the first Powerball win since 19 November, with the prize money growing and growing until it became the 9th biggest prize money in the US, before the woman won it.
