An explosion took place at the Audi Service Centre in Ubi earlier today (7 March), resulting in 1 person being sent to the hospital and about 100 people being evacuated.
The explosion was so powerful that it blew apart a part of the building’s wall, with the resultant debris being strewn all over the ground.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force were seen at the scene, along with a fire truck, and they didn’t find a fire after arriving at the scene, but found a section of the wall collapsed.
Lianhe Zaobao also reported that some of the debris had even flown over to Oxley Bizhub, which was nearby the Audi Service Centre.
A spokesperson for Audi said that the affected building has been closed off in order to facilitate investigations into the explosion.
The service centre will also remain closed until further notice, and Audi added that they are working with the relevant authorities to identify the cause of the explosion.

On 7 March 2023 at about 8:55 a.m., SCDF was alerted to an incident at the abovementioned location.
Upon arrival, there was no fire and SCDF noticed that a section of the wall at the side of a building had collapsed.
About 100 people evacuated from the building prior to SCDF’s arrival.
One person was conveyed to the Raffles Hospital after sustaining a fall in the vicinity.
There were no other reported injuries.
SCDF is currently at the scene investigating.
