NEW NEIGHBOR BELOW INVITES 10+ PEOPLE TO SING KARAOKE, GUY HAD ENOUGH & WANT REVENGE

Prologue :

Yes this is now the second grand installment, lets all hope it stops at 2 because if not something is very wrong. (With the people that live here)

I don’t get why people say SG has the most friendly and racially considerate peaceful people because that’s so untrue and a farce.

Problems :

So a new family moved in below us, wealthy. Directly below our bedroom is their new BLASTING karaoke room. Is it sound proof? No, was it meant to be a bed room? Yes. Do they care? Nope.

Sg HDBs should not allow karaoke rooms, especially when this family is inviting 10+ people over very frequently to use the room. How is this not illegal?

I have spoken to them twice about it very nicely but they seem to take it for granted or maybe they just forgot because they have brain damage from the earth shattering bass.

Legal and Immoral solutions are very very welcomed below because this is the last straw.

Upstairs also got noisy neighbours

Seeking advise for dealing with extremely noisy neighbors

Brief info of neighbors (This will be a long read, sorry)

• Upstairs Neighbor 3rd floor (will just refer them as 3rd floor uncle and aunty :
• Pair of Senior Uncle and Auntie, not elderly
• Moved to SG from Malaysia
• Both only speak Chinese only

The guy :

1. Speaks Loud
2. Smokes
3. Smokes around home vicinity
4. Litters Cigarettes out the window.
5. Cigarettes can be found on top of our aircon engine outside and along the staircase area
6. Once walked into our house to our kitchen to grab his dropped laundry without permission or consent.

The lady :

1. Speaks loud on phone calls out the window at night
2. Puts wet soaking and dripping laundry out the window. The water always drips down like raining to our window, our hanging area and first floor neighbors.
3. Collects discarded items and furniture and brings it to the house
4. Very inconsiderate person, hammers, saws and throws objects on the floor and around the house. (This happens from 12am to 5am daily)
5. Slams items or furniture around the house on the floor and likes to beat against the wall with some sort of brush or bristle like object. Maybe a broom? (Happens at 12am to 3am some nights)
6. All the ruckus caused and heavy loud noise is made above our bedrooms where we have a hard time sleeping.

The sudden loud banging sounds in the night has woken me up multiple times and caused me much sleep deprivation and anxiety due to the sudden loud thuds every time. Like when falling asleep you”ll just hear a loud knock or “BANG”.

Numerous reports have been made to town council but nothing was ever done about these reports. No response nor improvements. The nuisance got worse overtime.

These neighbors need to be set straight or be sternly warned, they are causing havoc and disrupting peace and other’s sleep at wee hours on a daily basis, other people need to go to school and work. They are being extremely inconsiderate and we are desperate for a way to just stop them once and for all.

I have a lot of audio recordings of their loud hammerings at extremely late hours and videos of their dripping laundry from above outside the window.

I don’t think the police are going to do anything and I have no idea what else to do. Some friends say we can sue them for damages albeit expensive… but I don’t think money will forever cure the lost sleep or mental anguish this has caused. I just want them to stop the ruckus or just move out or even evicted if it comes to it because I’m at my wits end with their behavior.

I remember the first time I went up to try and confront them and saw their corridor, it was abysmal. It was full of broken furniture and bikes and their stuff took up the entire exterior of the HDB corridor. (Im not sure why their next door neighbors didn’t tell them to stop)

I have never been in their homes before but a 5th floor aunty went to visit them once as the 3rd floor lady her 5th floor aunty are somewhat friends. 5th floor aunty has informed us (me and my father) that the room above my bedroom was like a workshop with broken furniture like tables chairs and cupboards with tools and equipment. Some even hung and placed on the wall “on shelves like trophies” she stated. When the 5th floor aunty asked why she didn’t want to throw away all these garbage, the 3rd floor aunty responded “These aren’t trash, these are things I want to send back to Malaysia for friends and family.” Of course the convo was in Chinese, was just a brief translation.

I’m assuming they are hoarders that moved from Malaysia into SG HDBs and are not aware…they cant do these things they do here…especially not in HDBs…let alone in the night every single night. I’m not sure how they can live with no sleep, maybe they sleep in the day and wake up at night to grab discarded items from the trash before the morning cleaners come and pick up the trash for recycling.

And no they aren’t new neighbors, they have been here long before us. From the info of our home’s previous owners they were here even before them. We moved in about 7 years ago.

Any help and advise is extremely appreciated to solve this mess of a situation, I’m not sure what the next move should be. Thank you for your help and time, neighbor complains are probably common, so it may be in bad taste.

Things we tried :

●Knocking on their door to talk (No answer)

●Informing town council and writing to them and sending videos (Nothing was done, no improvement)

●Calling the police, they came once but nothing was done..
