The parties involved are the Peoples Voice, Reform Party, People’s Power Party, and Democratic Progressive Party. This alliance aims to participate in the upcoming General Election in Singapore, which is required to take place before 2025.

Lim Tean, the leader of Peoples Voice, revealed that discussions about forming the alliance had been ongoing since January.

He acknowledged previous unsuccessful attempts at opposition party alliances, including one in 2018 that involved seven parties.

According to Lim Tean’s Facebook post, the People’s Alliance has responded to the calls of Singaporeans for opposition unity by deciding to establish an alliance rather than solely engaging in talks.

In the same Facebook post, Lim Tean introduced the first members of the alliance’s central executive committee, which includes

  2. Peter Soh as the Vice-Chairman,
  3. Lim Tean as the Secretary-General,
  4. Yasmine Valentina as the Assistant Secretary-General,
  5. Mohamad Hamim Aliyas as the Treasurer,
  6. Michael Fang as the Assistant Treasurer,
  7. Goh Meng Seng as the Organising Secretary,
  8. Juliana Juwahir as the Assistant Organising Secretary,
  9. Abdul Malik Rahmat, Lim Lian Chin, Chiu Shin Kong, and Mahaboob Batcha Abdul Rasheed as members.

Lim Tean stated that the People’s Alliance intends to contest in all the constituencies where the respective parties participated during the 2020 General Election and even more constituencies in the upcoming election.

He emphasized that the four parties have reached a consensus on crucial issues that will impact the welfare of the people and the country in the coming years.

Lim Tean also mentioned that they have prepared a manifesto to present to the nation during the General Election.

Additionally, the four parties have taken the necessary measures to register the alliance with the Registry of Societies. Once the registration is approved, a press conference and official launch for the People’s Alliance will be organized.
