A fire can occur anywhere, most of us would run as fast as we can when a fire occurs. A Mother sacrifices her own safety and rushes into the burning flat to rescue her 4-year-old daughter that was trapped in the unit. She did it alone and managed to save her daughter from the fire.
Thankfully both mother and daughter escaped with minor injuries.
The incident happened in a unit located at Blk 4, Haig Road. Initially, a 5-year-old boy was crying for help when the fire occurred. Neighbours managed to break open the main door and allow the boy to escape. The boy mentioned that his sister is still inside the unit but none of the neighbours went in as the smoke was already too thick.
In the nick of time, the mother returned home and went straight in to escape the unit. Using only her sense of touch she navigated to her girl and rescued her from the fire.
