21 Y.O GIRL KILLED AFTER BEING HIT BY AIRCON UNIT THAT DROPPED 17 FLOORS

On 20th July, a heartbreaking incident occurred in New Taipei City, Taiwan, when a 33kg air conditioner unexpectedly fell 17 floors, tragically killing a young woman who was waiting at a bus stop., according to 8world News.

The victim, Ms. Huang, a 21-year-old university student, was enjoying an ordinary day with her older sister when this freak accident turned their lives upside down.

The Unfortunate Incident

The dreadful accident took place near Exit 2 of Xinpu MRT Station in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, at approximately 1.11 pm As Ms. Huang and her sister were waiting for a bus.

The air conditioner unit then came crashing down on the street level after falling 17 storeys, hitting Ms. Huang with tremendous force.

Her sister immediately attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to save her sibling’s life.

The Injuries

The impact of the aircon’s fall left Ms. Huang with extensive head bruises and severely fractured legs. Emergency services rushed her to the hospital, but despite their best efforts, she couldn’t survive the injuries and tragically passed away.

The Installation Mishap

According to China Press, investigations revealed that the accident occurred during the installation of the air conditioner on the 17th floor of the building.

The worker responsible for the installation claimed that he believed the aircon had been securely installed before he let go of it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case, and the unit plummeted 17 floors to the ground below.

The worker admitted to standing inside the unit while hanging the air conditioner on the exterior wall. Due to a perceived oversight, he did not tighten the screw securely, ultimately leading to the catastrophic incident.

Young life lost

Ms. Huang’s untimely death shocked and saddened the community. As a young university student with a bright future ahead, she had her whole life ahead of her. The unexpected and tragic event has left her family, friends, and the entire community grieving.
