ALL OCBC BANKING SERVICES DOWN DUE TO “TECHNICAL PROBLEMS”, BANK SAYS SORRY

OCBC Bank issued a statement on its website earlier today (28 August) stating “we are experiencing network issues at the moment. You may have difficulty using our ATMs, credit cards or online banking services. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are working to bring things back to normal.”

All OCBC banking services, including their ATMs, online banking services and credit cards were down due to reported network issues.

However, they added that for customers who require banking for urgent transactions, they can visit their branches physically.

The bank also issued another statement on their Facebook page, saying “we are experiencing network issues at the moment. You may have difficulty using our ATMs, credit cards or online banking services. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are working to bring things back to normal.”

OCBC subsequently issued an update later in the morning at about 10.33 am, stating that their card and branch services had been restored.

They then issued another update at about 10.37 in the morning, saying that their ATM services have since been restored.

Reactions from OCBC customers have been largely negative, with many complaining about the inconvenience caused by the situation.

Some netizens shared that they were transferring money to process their end-of-month payroll but the money got stuck, while another customer shared that her OCBC card was declined and she doesn’t have cash, appealing to the bank to quickly sort things out “before he make my face viral”.

1. OCBC is absolutely my most hated bank. I always have more technical issues with my OCBC account compared with all the other banks. Was trying money to DBS for month end payroll, and now the money is stuck!

4. Every card being declined at merchant. How embarrassing! Luckily I’ve cash and other cards on hand. And seriously who has time to q at ur branches?! And many uses ocbc for salary giro, what if ppl have urgent bills and commitments to be liable for?!
