A condominium in Pasir Ris was “breached” by an outsider over the weekend, when a black car crashed and knocked down a wall of the condominium premises, leaving a huge gaping hole in the wall.
Two people ended up suffering injuries, albeit minor ones.
The Incident
According to a netizen who shared videos and photos of the incident, it purportedly took place on the 14th of October, at the junction of Pasir Ris Rise and Jalan Loyang Besar.
Shin MIn Daily News reported that the accident took place at about 10.15pm.
A black Nissan Teana crashed into the perimeter wall of the Sea Esta condominium, and was believed to have skidded after mounting a kerb and losing control, before hitting the condominium wall.
The Consequences
The car, a black Nissan Teana, left a trail of destruction as it knocked down a huge part of the perimeter wall and sent debris flying across the walkway.
The car almost crashed into a tree but stopped just in time, and the damage was quite significant.
Minor Injuries and Prompt Response
The Singaproe Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that two people were involved in the accident and were assessed to have suffered minor injuries and refused conveyance to the hospital.
The following day, the wall was cordoned off from the public although the huge gaping hole and debris from the accident still remains.
Eyewitness Accounts
Residents in the vicinity were understandably shaken by the crash. Mr. Wu, whose unit is adjacent to the portion of the wall that was impacted, recalled a “deafening crash” that frightened his mother.
He told SMDN that he didn’t manage to see the driver or passengers due to the suddenness of the incident.
Another 46-year-old resident shared that when he returned home later that night at about 11.30pm, he was police officers at the accident site, along with a tow truck that was getting ready to remove the vehicle from the scene.
