On the morning of Nov. 28, a lorry carrying a piece of tree trunk collided with a private bus, resulting in injuries to the lorry driver and a female passenger, with 3rd person suffering minor injuries declining to be sent to the hospital, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The Incident Unfolds

A Shin Min reporter visited the scene and provided detailed coverage of the accident, highlighting the road damage and the cordoned-off area, as well as seeing a lot of blood at the scene.

The damaged road forced many vehicles to detour, causing a temporary disruption in the area.

Employees at the scene shed light on the circumstances, explaining how the lorry’s loss of balance resulted in the collision. A delivery rider passing through the industrial park witnessed the aftermath, describing the overturned lorry next to the private bus.

The incident caused a traffic jam in the industrial park, as observed by a 35-year-old delivery rider. The flipped lorry became a focal point, creating a visual spectacle that affected the flow of traffic.

Emergency Response

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) promptly responded to the accident, receiving a call for help at about 7.28am on 28 November along Yishun Avenue 7 and conveying two individuals to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Another person, assessed for minor injuries, chose not to go to the hospital.

Contrary to initial concerns, the manager of the lorry’s company assured that the lorry driver’s injuries were not serious. The driver remained conscious and even communicated with the manager despite the unfortunate incident. Fortunately, the bus driver confirmed that no passengers on the bus sustained injuries.

Company’s Perspective

The lorry company’s manager offered insights into the incident, reassuring the public about the lorry driver’s condition. The emphasis was on the driver’s hand injury, emphasizing that it was not severe.

The bus driver also confirmed with SMDN that nobody on his bus was hurt.
