Owner Guo Fucai, in an interview with Shin Min Daily News, revealed that the eatery’s business strategy revolves around thin profit margins coupled with high sales volume.
While the increase in consumption tax has led to a rise in the cost of food materials, the eatery remains committed to ensuring that customers can enjoy a fulfilling meal at affordable prices.
“Our turnover is sufficient to offset the increased costs. This area is an industrial zone with many working professionals. We have established a loyal customer base, and considering the challenges everyone faces in earning a living, this is our way of understanding and supporting the community,” Guo Fucai explained.
Unreasonable Complaints and Employee Confrontations
Despite the eatery’s efforts to provide budget-friendly meals, the owner expressed his frustration with a segment of customers who find fault with the economic rice prices. He mentioned that there are instances almost daily where customers engage in heated arguments with his staff over perceived expensive prices.
“Some customers complain that our economical rice is too costly. It’s disheartening to see our staff being scolded over pricing issues. If you want to buy our food, there’s no need to berate my employees,” Guo Fucai remarked with a hint of resignation.
