A woman was taken into custody following a police raid at a Chinatown massage parlor, where she was accused of offering s- services.
The incident occurred on March 20, 2024, at a store located on the third floor of People’s Park Centre, as reported by Shin Min Daily News.
Scantily clad women were previously reported trying to solicit customers
Previously, reports had surfaced of women in provocative attire attempting to solicit s- services from male passersby on the same floor. The clandestine services were allegedly priced between S$50 and S$150.
When the authorities attempted to access the premises, they encountered resistance from one of the workers.
However, upon forcing entry, the police found themselves face-to-face with the masseuses and patrons, who were detained by the officers.
The massage beds were hidden behind curtains, and the parlor’s entrance was strewn with broken glass, resulting from the police’s forceful entry.
The interior was cluttered with tissue paper and towels.
58 year old female employee was arrested
A 58-year-old woman employed at the parlor was apprehended and taken into custody by the police. She was observed donning heavy makeup and appearing uneasy.
She also attempted to avoid the reporter’s camera. The parlor owner faces investigation for operating an unlicensed massage establishment.
Landlord allegedly unaware of such activities going on
The landlord, who claimed to be unaware of the illicit activities, was taken aback by the sight of the shattered glass door.
She stated that she had been led to believe that the store was intended for a hairdressing business.
“They only said it was meant for scalp treatments. I didn’t expect it to turn out like this,” she lamented.
