National security is of utmost importance to us and BioScreen is an integral security measure to keep our country safe and secure. Since BioScreen was progressively rolled out across all checkpoints from April 2016, it has proven to be effective in detecting people with adverse records, such as those trying to enter the country using false identities.
We have noted the concerns from netizens on the trial of BioScreen for car travellers at the land checkpoints. We will closely monitor and assess the ground situation, and calibrate the implementation according to prevailing security assessments. Our officers will also assist travellers with special needs accordingly. We seek travellers’ understanding during the trial period.
