Five Arrested Following Group Brawl in Jurong That Left One Man Hospitalized
A violent altercation in Jurong on October 5 resulted in the arrest of five individuals and left one man requiring hospital treatment. The incident occurred at 1 Yuan Ching Road, with the police receiving a call for assistance at around 8:05 pm.
Upon arrival, officers found a 41-year-old man who was conscious but injured. He was subsequently taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for further treatment. The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident at approximately 8:10 pm.
The police have arrested two men and a woman, aged between 32 and 42, for affray, which is the act of fighting in a public place. Additionally, a 40-year-old man was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, while a 35-year-old man was arrested for riotous behavior.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities working to piece together the events surrounding the brawl. A bloodstained fluorescent safety jacket was found near the scene, discarded next to a rubbish bin outside a toilet. At least four police cars were present at the scene, and eyewitnesses reported seeing a man bleeding from the head and lying on the ground as paramedics attended to him.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining public order and safety, and the authorities will continue to work to ensure that those responsible for violent behavior are held accountable.
