A girl shared how her dog is dying from cancer and nobody cares or has reached out to her, not even her parents, and she is heartbroken.
Here is the story
My dog is literally on death’s door. He’s full of cancer and the appointment to put him down is already booked. I’m heartbroken.
He’s had a long 12 years of life, he’s been spoiled, and he will be dying with dignity and with no pain. So it’s been a success in terms of dog ownership goes…
I just love him so much and it’s been so incredibly hard.
Not a single one of my friends or family have reached out about it. Not one. Not even my parents. They know about it, it’s come across in many conversations and I’ve also made some posts on social media about it.
Not a single one of them has actively reached out and asked how I’m doing or to offer condolences.
I understand everyone is busy with their own lives (we’re in our 30s) but dammit man that just adds onto the hurt.
It’s wild how as you get older people genuinely don’t care. I’m at a loss.
Netizen’s comments
- People often care but are concerned with actively engaging in a hurtful topic with people experiencing pain. Just so you know. I care and I really hope you get through this transition with a sense of peace and love.
- Same thing happened to me, sometimes people just done care, and don’t know how much a pet means to pet owners. It will be tough at first but it will get easier to deal with the pain in the coming weeks. Sorry for your loss.
