Sad to hear of the death of the adult rider in the previous incident.
Condolences to the family. Hopefully, the 16 year old, of this 2nd incident, makes good recovery.
Time for LTA to do every day for a month, at the very least, nation-wide enforcement against illegal e-scooters/e-bikes [modified or not registered] and also illegal use of such vehicles on the expressways, roads and other passageways not open to them. Thereafter, the frequency can be reduced [but nation-wide please] to twice a week, at the very least.
If there can be enforcement on a regular basis by relevant authorities against vice and illegal moneylending, I do not see why we cannot have similar force of enforcement in relation to e-scooters/e-bikes. Why wait for someone to stomp, or for an accident to happen, before LTA becomes aware of violation! It is time for LTA to prove its worth as a resourceful and responsible enforcement agency. The public has every right to demand that LTA up its enforcement frequencies, and its standard and quality of service to the nation. It is unacceptable for LTA to even offer the excuse that it does not have sufficient human resources to do the job. This is easily overcome – go employ more Singaporeans and pay them their fair wages.
