Two Teenage Girls Rescued from Prostitution in a Thailand Karaoke Bar

The raid, which took place on June 6, 2025, was part of an ongoing investigation into illegal activities at the venue.

Details of the Operation

The operation was led by Police Major General Songkrot Krakritaya, the commander of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD), in collaboration with local law enforcement in the Mueang Chon Buri district. The karaoke establishment, located on Sukprayun Road in the Napha subdistrict, was reportedly owned by a 59-year-old man identified as Ro.

During the raid, police confiscated various items, including condoms, cash used in a sting operation, and documentation related to liquor and tobacco licenses. The investigation had been initiated last year following multiple complaints regarding the venue, which was suspected of employing underage girls as waitresses and offering them for S-services.

Undercover Sting Operation

Undercover agents posed as customers and successfully negotiated S-services with the two girls, aged 15 and 16, for a fee of 2,500 baht each, plus an additional 1,000 baht commission for the venue. Once sufficient evidence was gathered, police moved in to arrest Ro and rescue the girls, who were identified as victims of human trafficking.

Ro has denied the charges and has been handed over to the ATPD for further legal proceedings. The police are continuing their efforts to support and protect the young girls involved in this case, ensuring they receive the necessary care and assistance.

Broader Context of Human Trafficking in Thailand

This incident is part of a larger issue of human trafficking and exploitation in Thailand, where underage individuals are often targeted for illegal activities. In a related case, police in Chiang Mai recently arrested a 16-year-old girl suspected of arranging S-services for a 14-year-old girl, highlighting the alarming trend of minors being involved in such illicit operations.

Authorities are working diligently to combat these crimes and raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking. The police’s proactive approach in Chon Buri serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable individuals and bring perpetrators to justice.

Conclusion

The rescue of these two teenage girls marks a crucial step in the fight against human trafficking in Thailand. As law enforcement continues to crack down on illegal activities, it is essential for communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. The protection of minors and the prevention of exploitation must remain a top priority for society as a whole.
