Man Investigated for Dangerous Driving After Argument with Wife

According to a statement from the South Johor Police District Chief, the driver was operating a blue second-generation national SUV when he lost focus and inadvertently entered the opposite lane. Passengers in other vehicles captured footage of the dangerous driving and shared it on social media, sparking public concern.
Police Investigation
The police tracked down the vehicle’s owner using the license plate number and requested him to come to the police station for questioning. The 34-year-old driver arrived at the station around 11:30 AM the same day and admitted that the argument with his wife had caused him to lose focus while driving, leading to the wrong-way incident.
A urine test conducted on the driver returned negative for drugs, and he was not found to be under the influence of alcohol. The police are investigating the case under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
