Police Lieutenant Colonel Jarukit Janrada, Deputy Inspector of Don Mueang Police Station, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported at around 2 AM. Accompanied by the 191 patrol unit and local patrol officers, they found the two injured teenagers awaiting assistance.

Details of the Incident

The victims, identified only as A, a 16-year-old, and B, a 14-year-old, sustained serious injuries from gunfire. A was shot in the abdomen and left arm, while B suffered gunshot wounds to the right thigh and abdomen. Volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation provided immediate first aid before transporting the teenagers to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital for further treatment.

Upon investigation, police discovered six to seven bullet casings from a 12-gauge firearm in front of the townhouse, indicating the severity of the attack. Forensic officers were called to secure the area and gather evidence.

Eyewitness Accounts and Investigation

According to statements from the injured teenagers, they were returning home on a motorcycle when they were pursued by a group of four to five individuals on motorcycles. In a bid to escape, they fled into their house, where the assailants opened fire, resulting in their injuries. At the time of the shooting, eight to nine friends of the victims were present in the house, engaged in gaming activities, and they quickly rushed to assist the injured teenagers.

The victims believe that the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity, as they reported having no known conflicts with anyone. Initial investigations revealed that two of the assailants were riding a black Honda Wave motorcycle, which was notably without a license plate. The gunman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was described as wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and a full-face helmet.

Ongoing Police Efforts

Authorities are actively questioning the friends of the victims and reviewing CCTV footage from the area in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in this alarming incident. The police are treating the case with urgency, given the potential implications of gang-related violence in the community.

As the investigation continues, the local community remains on edge, reflecting on the need for increased safety measures to protect residents from such violent occurrences. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing youth violence and gang activity in urban areas.
