THAI MAN TRIES TO RAPE 9 Y.O GIRL OVER S$12 DEBT OWED BY HER FATHER

Disturbing Incident in Thailand: Man Attempts to Assault Young Girl Over Debt

In a shocking incident in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand, a nine-year-old girl became the target of an attempted sexual assault, allegedly motivated by a S$12 debt owed by her father. The incident occurred on June 24, when a local resident, 32-year-old Wanchalerm, heard the girl’s cries for help while on his way to purchase meat. Upon investigating the source of the distress, he discovered the girl being attacked by a 66-year-old man named Somsak, who was using a motorcycle sidecar.

Wanchalerm reported that the young girl was visibly injured, with her face covered in blood. When he confronted the assailant, Somsak attempted to justify his actions by claiming that the girl was his niece and that he was disciplining her for speaking to a young man. However, as Wanchalerm began recording the incident on his phone, Somsak fled the scene, leaving the girl behind.

Girl Found Injured and Abandoned

After the attack, Wanchalerm promptly contacted the police and enlisted the help of his neighbours to locate the girl. Later that evening, she was discovered lying in a wooded area, severely injured and in need of urgent medical attention. Authorities quickly transported her to a hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, police apprehended Somsak and uncovered several items linked to the crime, including a pair of scissors, multiple condoms, packets of sexual enhancement coffee, and a blood-stained fertiliser sack. These findings raised serious concerns about the nature of the attack and the premeditated intent behind it.

Confession and Legal Consequences

During police questioning, Somsak confessed to the assault, revealing that his actions were driven by resentment towards the girl’s father, who had allegedly refused to repay the 300 baht debt. He admitted to luring the girl from her school under the pretense of needing help to retrieve a charging cable, only to take her into the woods with the intention of committing a sexual crime.

When the girl resisted, Somsak resorted to violence, inflicting severe injuries by punching her, stomping on her abdomen, and stabbing her hands with scissors. He now faces multiple charges, including luring a minor for indecent acts and attempted rape, as well as causing bodily harm. Currently in custody, he will be prosecuted under Thai law.

This harrowing incident has sparked outrage and concern within the community, highlighting the urgent need for measures to protect vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from such heinous acts. The case serves as a grim reminder of the potential consequences of unresolved debts and the lengths to which some individuals may go in seeking retribution.

As the investigation continues, the community remains vigilant, advocating for justice and support for the young victim as she begins her recovery.
