Singapore Man Jailed After “shoots” on MRT Train & Staining Woman’s Clothes

A Singaporean man who openly masturbated on a crowded MRT train before flicking his bodily fluids onto an unsuspecting woman’s clothing has been sentenced to three weeks in jail. The disturbing incident has drawn widespread condemnation and renewed calls for vigilance and safety on Singapore’s public transport system.

The accused, 42-year-old Cheng Choong Peng, boarded the same train as the victim at Jurong East MRT station on the evening of 5 February. According to state prosecutor A. Majeed Yosuff, Cheng positioned himself behind the woman and, while consumed by frustration over an unfulfilling marriage, began pleasuring himself on the moving train.

Bodily Fluids Flicked Onto Woman’s Pants

After finishing the act, Cheng noticed his bodily fluid on his hand and the floor of the train carriage. Rather than cleaning himself discreetly or stopping his offensive behaviour, he chose to flick the fluid from his hand, which splattered onto the woman’s pants. Fearing exposure and arrest, Cheng refrained from informing the woman of what had happened, hoping to escape unnoticed.

Upon alighting at Outram Park MRT station, the woman discovered a suspicious stain on her clothing. Distressed and alarmed, she lodged a police report, which sparked an investigation that traced the stain back to Cheng. The victim later shared that the incident left her feeling “shocked and at a loss,” adding she felt “insulted and disgusted” by the ordeal.

DNA Evidence Leads to Arrest and Conviction

Swabs taken from the stain were analysed by the Health Sciences Authority, with results conclusively matching Cheng’s DNA profile. Police arrested him on 20 May, and he was subsequently charged in court. Cheng pleaded guilty to one count of public nuisance, an offence under Singapore’s Penal Code, which carries penalties for obscene or disruptive behaviour in public spaces.

On 3 July, the Singapore State Courts sentenced Cheng to three weeks in jail. The case has reignited discussions on MRT passenger safety, sexual offences in public transport, and public indecency laws in Singapore, topics with strong search interest and high CPM potential for advertisers in safety, security, and legal advice sectors.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of staying alert during commutes and reporting any suspicious or inappropriate behaviour immediately. Commuters are advised to inform station staff or call 999 if they witness or experience any form of sexual misconduct.
