A tragic incident unfolded in Bangkok’s Rama 2 area as a domestic dispute rooted in a love triangle ended in a fatal shooting. Police are actively searching for a man believed to have murdered his romantic rival in the early hours of 2 August 2025.
The victim, 38-year-old Anucha, a local minibus driver, was gunned down outside an apartment complex. According to the Thai authorities, he was shot seven times—presumably by 36-year-old Sira, another driver who is now the prime suspect and currently on the run. Investigators believe jealousy and long-standing relationship tensions were at the heart of the violent act.
Police were alerted to the scene just after 2am and found Anucha lying lifeless in casual attire with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers recovered several bullet casings at the crime scene. The case is being handled by Tha Kham Police Station with support from forensic teams and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation.
Romantic Rivalry Sparks Gun Violence in Residential Area
Preliminary investigations revealed that Anucha had been romantically involved with a woman named Sukanya, aged 37. Witnesses claim the two had been inseparable for some time. That night, they were seen dining together before heading back to her apartment on his motorcycle.
It was there that Sira—believed to be Sukanya’s husband—allegedly confronted the couple and opened fire on Anucha. Witness testimony suggests the suspect was enraged upon seeing his wife with another man, despite already being aware of the extramarital affair.
May, a 34-year-old woman who regarded Anucha as an older brother, confirmed to police that the affair had been going on for months and had caused significant friction. Anucha’s ex-wife also revealed that Sukanya was previously hired to tutor their children—an arrangement that eventually led to a romantic relationship and a divorce just five months prior.
Police Intensify Search for Suspect in Love-Related Homicide
The Bangkok Metropolitan Police are treating the case as a crime of passion and have launched a citywide manhunt for Sira. Anucha’s body has been transferred to Siriraj Hospital for a full autopsy.
This incident sheds light on the increasing number of domestic violence cases and relationship-related murders in urban Thailand. Authorities are urging anyone with information on Sira’s whereabouts to come forward as investigations continue.
