NEW FOOTAGE ON BUKIT PANJANG FIGHT, 2 OLD MEN VERSUS 2 OLD MEN

Bukit Panjang Coffee Shop Fight: Two Elderly Men Caught Beating Others with Chairs in Drunken Brawl

A late-night coffee shop scuffle in Bukit Panjang took a violent turn when two elderly men were caught on video attacking two other seniors with plastic chairs. The shocking incident unfolded around 8:10pm on August 2 at Block 257 Bangkit Road and has since gone viral on social media.

Footage shared by Singapore Uncensored reader captured the moment two visibly intoxicated men raised chairs and struck two others, who were already lying on the ground. The plastic chairs bounced off the victims’ bodies as onlookers watched in disbelief. Several people attempted to intervene and restrain the aggressors, but the situation escalated before it deescalated.

Despite being held back, one of the men in a yellow shirt launched a powerful kick at one of the victims, hitting him directly in the face. The impact caused the man’s head to jolt backwards, adding to the severity of the assault. Cries of “Enough already!” could be heard in dialect as others pleaded for the violence to stop.

Victims Refused Hospital Treatment Despite Bleeding

According to Shin Min Daily News, the two victims, believed to be aged 57 and 65, appeared to be bleeding from their mouths following the assault. Despite their injuries, they reportedly refused to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

One of the suspects, dressed in white, was allegedly a regular at the coffee shop and known to patrons. Witnesses at the scene told reporters that the scuffle started after heavy drinking, with both parties believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

A food stall worker confirmed that police arrived shortly after the incident and remained on site for about an hour. Authorities are currently investigating the case.

Public Reaction: Shock, Disgust & Concern for Elderly Behaviour

Many netizens have expressed shock over the video, questioning how seniors—often seen as peacekeepers in the community—could resort to such violent behaviour in public. The clip sparked online discussions about alcohol consumption, elderly aggression, and the increasing volatility of coffee shop environments in Singapore’s heartlands.

Others voiced concern about the safety of patrons in public spaces, especially when alcohol is involved. Some called for better regulation of alcohol sales in residential coffee shops, particularly during late-night hours.

As the investigation continues, members of the public are urged not to share or speculate further about the identities of those involved, especially if not officially confirmed by police. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities.

Alcohol-Fuelled Violence Raises Questions About Community Safety

This incident adds to a growing number of public altercations caught on camera across Singapore, with coffee shops and hawker centres becoming hotspots for unsavoury behaviour—often under the influence of alcohol. Such incidents not only pose physical risks to those involved but also harm the sense of community and safety that these spaces were built for.

As Singapore’s population ages, public safety involving seniors becomes an increasingly important topic. This case serves as a sobering reminder that anti-social behaviour isn’t limited to youth and that age does not automatically equate to responsibility.

The police investigation remains ongoing. No arrests have been made at the time of publication.
