Three women and one man have been arrested in Singapore for allegedly running an online counterfeit goods operation, with police seizing more than 1,100 fake luxury items valued at over $99,000.
Raids Across Woodlands and Ang Mo Kio

Between 24 July and 15 August 2025, the Criminal Investigation Department carried out a series of raids at locations in Woodlands Close, Woodlands Street 13, Woodlands Avenue 6, and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. The operations uncovered large quantities of suspected trademark-infringing items, including branded bags, wallets, sunglasses, scarves, pouches, and brooches.
The seized haul, estimated to be worth more than $99,000 on the street, was believed to be destined for online resale, targeting unsuspecting consumers who thought they were purchasing genuine luxury goods. Investigations into the syndicate’s activities are ongoing.
Harsh Penalties for Counterfeit Trade
Under the Trade Marks Act 1998, anyone found guilty of possessing goods with falsely applied trademarks for commercial purposes faces a fine of up to $100,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both.
Authorities have warned that the sale and distribution of counterfeit products not only harm legitimate businesses but also deceive consumers, who often pay premium prices for poor-quality imitations.
Police: Strong Action Against Counterfeit Sellers
The Singapore Police Force reiterated that it takes a firm stance against intellectual property rights infringements. Offenders seeking to profit from counterfeit sales will face strict enforcement action.
Consumers are also urged to remain vigilant when shopping online, especially when deals appear too good to be true. Checking authorised retailers and official brand platforms remains the safest way to avoid falling victim to counterfeit scams.
