Doctor BMW Files Police Report After His Personal Information Leaked

Kelantan police have confirmed receiving a formal report linked to a viral video that allegedly involved a doctor from a private hospital in Kota Bharu. The video, which circulated widely on social media, sparked controversy after claims surfaced that the married doctor was engaged in an affair with another man’s wife.

Kota Bharu district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, said in a statement that the report was filed on 24 August at around 6.27pm. He added that the case has since been referred to Rujuk Lain Agensi (RLA) for further action. Authorities have yet to disclose the specific measures being taken but confirmed that investigations are underway.

The incident has stirred public discussion online, with the video being shared across multiple platforms and attracting significant attention.

Doctor Responds to Allegations and Online Harassment

In response to the viral claims, Dr Wong — the doctor at the centre of the scandal — issued a statement expressing concern for his family’s safety. He revealed that both he and his loved ones have been subjected to cyberbullying and threats following the video’s circulation.

He alleged that his personal details, including photographs, phone number, and even information about his family, friends, and affiliated organisations, had been spread online without consent. Dr Wong described this as an invasion of privacy and said it had caused distress to those close to him.

To safeguard his rights, Dr Wong confirmed that he has lodged a police report and stated he reserves the right to pursue legal action against individuals who misuse his personal data, publish defamatory remarks, or harass his family under Malaysian law.

Rising Concerns Over Cyberbullying and Privacy

This case highlights the growing issue of cyberbullying and online harassment in Malaysia, where viral scandals often lead to widespread speculation and trial by social media. Legal experts have pointed out that sharing unverified and defamatory content online may carry serious consequences, including potential lawsuits.

As investigations continue, the incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with digital exposure. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims, particularly when such content infringes on personal rights and safety.
