SP Group had a media release on Dec 29 saying that electricity tariffs will face an surge of 6.3 per cent of 1.26 cents per kWh effective Jan 1 to Mar 31 2018 against the previous quarter.

The “reason” for the increase SP Group point out to the higher cost of natural gas for electricity generation which see an increase of 14% against the last quarter.
This means for electricity tariff will see a surge from 20.30 to 21.5 cents per kWh for the first quarter of next year for the households. This comparable to the highest at the last since at the fourth quarter of 2015
