Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Air India have formalised a new commercial cooperation framework that signals a deeper strategic alignment between the two national carriers. The agreement is designed to enhance air connectivity between Singapore and India, while offering travellers more flexibility, smoother journeys and improved loyalty benefits across both networks.

Building on an existing code-share partnership, the latest pact outlines plans for closer operational coordination, subject to regulatory clearance. Both airlines say the collaboration will unlock broader travel options and improved customer experience, particularly for business travellers, frequent flyers and corporate travel accounts operating between South Asia and South-east Asia.

The move reflects growing demand for premium air travel, corporate mobility and tourism flows between Singapore and India, two markets that continue to see strong economic and people-to-people links. Frequent flyers are also set to gain from the partnership. SIA and Air India have indicated plans to progressively enhance privileges beyond existing Star Alliance benefits for members of KrisFlyer and Air India’s Maharaja Club.
