A 28-year-old woman in the United States was fatally shot just a day after filing a police report alleging S-assault against her boyfriend, in a case that has shocked the local community.
Authorities in Pennsylvania confirmed that a 32-year-old man, identified as Yujun Ren, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide following the incident. He also faces additional charges, including possession of an instrument of crime and stalking.
According to investigators, Ren is believed to have been in a relationship with the victim, Yuan Yuan Lu, for nearly a year. Court records indicate that Lu had recently decided to end the relationship, packed her belongings and blocked him from contacting her. She had reportedly told police she was afraid of him and alleged that he carried a firearm regularly.
Suspect Allegedly Turned Himself In
Police said Ren turned himself in on a Sunday afternoon and directed officers to a residence where Lu was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency responders attended the scene, but she was pronounced dead.
