The deceased has been identified as Alan Roger Joliffe. According to local reports, the confrontation took place on Prachanukhro Road in the Patong area at around 5pm on 25 February. The case has drawn widespread attention in Thailand.

Video footage reportedly captured the incident, and authorities have since arrested the suspect in connection with the assault.

Dispute Allegedly Triggered by Motorbike Horn

Police identified the suspect only as Tugay, who was reportedly riding a motorcycle with Phuket licence plates at the time. It is alleged that he sounded his horn as he passed Joliffe, which led to an argument between the two men.

Investigators say the suspect stopped his vehicle, approached the victim, and struck him once on the face with his right hand. The blow allegedly caused Joliffe to fall backwards, lose consciousness, and hit his head heavily on the ground.
