Videos circulating on social media showed the animals moving calmly along a park connector before appearing near roads with passing vehicles. In several clips, the horses seemed unbothered by traffic, continuing at an easy pace as onlookers filmed the unusual sight.

The incident quickly attracted attention online, with many residents expressing surprise at seeing equines roaming freely in a residential estate better known for cycling paths and family-friendly parks.

Swift Response From Authorities And Stable Staff

Police officers responded promptly after being alerted to the situation. Working together with stable handlers, they were able to safely secure the animals without injury to the horses or members of the public.

According to the authorities, the pair were subsequently returned to their stables without incident. No accidents or property damage were reported during the episode.

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), which operates under the National Parks Board, confirmed it is aware of the matter and that investigations are ongoing.

Public Advisory Issued By AVS

AVS reminded members of the public to remain calm if they encounter a loose horse. People are advised not to approach, chase or attempt to restrain the animal, as doing so could increase the risk of injury.

Instead, the public should contact NParks’ 24-hour Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600 for assistance. Trained officers are equipped to handle such situations safely and efficiently.

While incidents involving escaped horses are rare in Singapore, equestrian facilities do operate in various parts of the island, including Pasir Ris. Proper safety protocols are typically in place, but investigations will determine how the animals managed to leave their enclosure.

For now, the two adventurous horses have returned home safely, bringing an unexpected midweek spectacle to residents in the east. Authorities have not indicated whether enforcement action will be taken, pending the outcome of ongoing inquiries.
