A fight between two men outside a coffee shop in Punggol has drawn attention online after a video of the altercation circulated on social media.
The incident reportedly took place near Block 108 Punggol Field, where bystanders witnessed the heated confrontation unfolding close to a pedestrian walkway and the dining area of a coffee shop. Police later confirmed that they received a call for assistance at around 5:05pm.
Authorities have since begun investigations into the incident, although the exact reason behind the dispute has not been revealed.
The footage, which was shared on Telegram, showed the two men facing off aggressively before the situation quickly escalated into a physical fight.
Brawl Escalates Near Dining Area
At the beginning of the clip, a man dressed in a black T-shirt was seen confronting another man wearing a beige top. The man in beige appeared to initiate the clash by attempting to knee the other man in the abdomen.
In response, the man in black retaliated with several punches directed at his opponent’s face.
During the scuffle, the man wearing the beige shirt appeared to suffer visible injuries, with blood clearly seen on his face as the confrontation continued.
The two men moved around the area while exchanging blows, drawing the attention of people nearby who were dining or walking past the coffee shop.
Bystanders Step In To Break Up Fight
As the situation intensified, several members of the public attempted to intervene in order to stop the fight from escalating further.
Among those who stepped forward were an older man in a white shirt, another man wearing a white-and-red jersey, and a third individual in a beige T-shirt. They tried to separate the pair near a railing close to the coffee shop’s seating area.
Despite their efforts, the confrontation continued for a short while, with the man in the black shirt still gesturing angrily towards the other individual.
Eventually, the bystanders managed to keep the two men apart and prevent the altercation from continuing.
Police Investigating Public Fighting Incident
Police have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Under Singapore law, fighting in a public place can be classified as affray, which refers to a disturbance caused by two or more people engaging in violence in public.
Individuals convicted of affray may face a jail term of up to one year, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
The authorities have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made or what led to the dispute. Further updates are expected once investigations are completed.
Public fights such as this can pose safety risks to both those involved and nearby members of the public, particularly when they take place in crowded locations like coffee shops and residential estates.
