One notable case involved a 30-year-old man who allegedly molested two 15-year-old girls at the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade on Jan. 1, 2026. Police arrested the suspect the following day, and he is expected to face two counts of outrage of modesty.

Penalties Under Singapore Law
Under Singapore law, individuals convicted of outrage of modesty can face serious penalties. Offenders may be sentenced to up to three years in prison, fined, caned, or receive a combination of these punishments.
In cases involving aggravated outrage of modesty, the penalties are significantly harsher. Those found guilty may face between two and ten years’ imprisonment, along with mandatory caning.
The Singapore Police Force has emphasised that it will continue to investigate reports of molestation and encourage victims or witnesses to come forward to assist with ongoing cases.
