51 Y.O MAN FOUND NAKED IN SENG KANG CAR PARK WITH SOMEONE’S WIFE, JAILED

A 51-year-old man in Singapore has been sentenced to jail after a late-night encounter escalated into a dangerous incident involving a love triangle and a moving vehicle.

Chia Hiok Seah was handed six weeks’ imprisonment and fined S$1,000 after being caught naked in a parked car with another man’s wife, before driving off with the woman’s husband clinging to the bonnet. The court also imposed a one-year driving disqualification upon his release.

The case, which unfolded in a residential area in Sengkang, has drawn attention due to the combination of public indecency and reckless conduct that resulted in physical harm.

Late-Night Encounter Turns Dangerous

According to court proceedings, the incident took place in the early hours following a dinner between Chia and his lover. The pair later parked at a multi-storey carpark, where they engaged in intimate activity inside the vehicle, The Straits Times (ST) reported.

At around 2am, the woman’s husband, identified in court documents as Goh Yong Sern, tracked down the car after searching for his wife. Upon discovering the pair inside in a state of undress, he attempted to confront them.

Unable to gain access to the locked vehicle, Goh climbed onto the bonnet in an apparent attempt to stop them from leaving. Instead of remaining at the scene, Chia drove off, causing Goh to be thrown from the moving vehicle.

The victim sustained multiple injuries, including a facial puncture wound and injuries to his limbs, and was later granted 14 days of hospitalisation leave.

Court Rejects Self-Defence Argument

During the trial, Chia claimed that he had acted out of fear, believing that Goh might harm him. However, the court found this explanation unconvincing.

Prosecutors argued that Chia’s actions went beyond any reasonable form of self-defence, especially since both he and his companion were safely inside the locked car at the time. Driving off with a person on the bonnet was deemed a reckless act that posed serious risk.

The judge highlighted that alternative actions—such as calling for help or alerting others—were available, but not taken.

Affair Continued Despite Prior Warning

The court also heard that tensions between the parties were not new. Goh had previously discovered the affair and even sought counselling, during which he admitted having thoughts of harming Chia.

Authorities had earlier intervened, advising all parties to avoid confrontation and to seek assistance if disputes escalated.

Despite this, Chia continued the relationship and arranged to meet the woman again, even in close proximity to her marital home—ultimately leading to the incident.

His defence counsel described him as a person of previously good character, though it was revealed that he had lost his job following publicity surrounding the case.

Legal And Personal Consequences

The case underscores how personal disputes can quickly spiral into criminal matters when emotions override judgement. Beyond the immediate penalties of jail time and fines, the long-term consequences—such as loss of employment and driving privileges—can be significant.

In Singapore, offences involving public indecency and rash acts causing hurt are treated seriously, particularly when public safety is compromised.

While no further charges involving the woman were disclosed in court, the case remains a stark reminder of the risks associated with escalating personal conflicts into dangerous situations.
