The video, published on Apr. 24 as part of MHA’s new #OnTheFrontline series, offered members of the public a rare look into how law enforcement officers conduct raids on nightlife establishments in Singapore.

The featured operation involved a raid on a KTV outlet located at Far East Shopping Centre, an area known for nightlife and entertainment venues.

Female Officer Seen Coordinating Enforcement Operation

The video focused heavily on Sergeant 2 (SGT 2) Chua Yen Yen, a senior officer from the Compliance Management Unit (CMU).

According to the video, Chua’s role includes handling permits, licences, and enforcement operations involving nightlife businesses and public safety compliance.

Footage showed her briefing officers at the Tanglin Police Division before the operation began.

During the raid, she was seen directing officers to verify the identities and work permits of women working inside the KTV establishment.

At one point, she was heard speaking in Mandarin to fellow officers while checking whether the names of workers matched official records.

She was also filmed questioning individuals inside the venue about their roles and requesting supporting employment documentation.

Multiple Agencies Participated In Orchard Operation

The raid shown in the video was reportedly linked to a large-scale multi-agency enforcement operation conducted in December 2025.

Authorities stated that the operation involved several Singapore agencies, including the Singapore Police Force, Health Sciences Authority, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, Central Narcotics Bureau, and Singapore Civil Defence Force.

A total of 22 women were reportedly arrested during the operation, with 12 of them handcuffed at the scene.

Investigations involved suspected offences linked to illegal gambling and vice-related activities.

Towards the end of the MHA video, Chua was also shown placing handcuffs on a woman before suspects were escorted into police vehicles.

MHA Series Offers Public Look Into Frontline Enforcement

The #OnTheFrontline series appears to be part of broader efforts by Singapore authorities to provide greater transparency into law enforcement work and frontline operations.

The video generated strong reactions online, with many viewers commenting on the professionalism and calm approach displayed by officers during the high-pressure operation.

Others noted the increasing visibility of female officers taking leadership roles in complex enforcement and investigation work across Singapore’s security agencies.

According to the Government Gazette, Chua was awarded the Singapore Police Good Service Medal in 2025 for her contributions to the force.
