A 48-year-old Singaporean man was found dead inside his Hong Kong apartment after colleagues became concerned when he failed to report for work without explanation.
The incident reportedly took place on Apr. 30 in Hong Kong’s New Territories district.
According to Hong Kong media reports, the man held a Hong Kong identity card and was understood to have a history of medical issues.
His colleagues reportedly became worried after he did not turn up for work on Apr. 29 and could not be contacted.
Colleagues Alerted Authorities After Failing To Reach Him
Concerned for his wellbeing, several colleagues allegedly visited his residence to check on him personally.
Fearing that he may have collapsed inside the unit, they later contacted Hong Kong authorities for assistance.
Emergency personnel and firefighters were subsequently dispatched to the apartment located at Primrose Hill on Kwok Shui Road.
Authorities reportedly forced entry into the flat shortly before noon after receiving no response from inside.
The Singaporean man was later found motionless within the apartment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hong Kong authorities have not released the identity of the deceased publicly.
Reports stated that the exact cause of death has yet to be determined and will only be confirmed after a post-mortem examination is completed.
