The disturbing case reportedly took place in Mumbai on May 2 at around 10:30pm. Despite suffering a severe head injury, the man remained conscious and was even seen using his mobile phone while entering the hospital.

Videos circulating online showed hospital staff and bystanders stunned by the sight as the injured man walked through the corridors of Mumbai’s Sion Hospital with the weapon still lodged in his skull.

According to Indian media reports, the victim had allegedly been attacked by three teenagers near a fried chicken shop following an earlier dispute.

Alleged Street Attack Leaves Victim Seriously Injured

Reports stated that one of the suspects allegedly struck the victim with the machete during the confrontation, while the other two youths punched and kicked him.

The weapon reportedly penetrated the left side of the man’s skull and remained embedded in his head after the assault.

Despite the horrific injury, the victim reportedly stayed conscious throughout the ordeal. A friend is said to have rushed him to the hospital on a motorcycle instead of waiting for an ambulance.

Footage from the hospital quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing millions of views and reactions worldwide. Many internet users described the incident as “unbelievable” and “miraculous”.

One clip showed another hospital visitor nearly brushing against the protruding handle of the machete as the injured man walked past.

Doctors Say Survival Was “Miraculous”

Doctors attending to the case reportedly said the blade had pierced around 3cm into the man’s head but narrowly avoided damaging critical areas of the brain.

Medical professionals described his survival as extraordinary because the injury missed major blood vessels and vital brain functions linked to speech and movement.

The victim later underwent emergency surgery and has since been declared out of danger.

The family reportedly criticised the hospital for what they claimed was a long wait before treatment began, especially given the seriousness of the injury.

Meanwhile, police in India confirmed that the three suspects connected to the attack have been arrested.

The bizarre incident has once again sparked conversations online about violent crime, emergency healthcare response times, and public safety in crowded urban areas.
