NEW GEN SG YOUNGSTERS NO PRIDE, WORK IN KTV AS HOSTESS & DON’T TAKE CARE PARENTS

Seriously, what is happening to the younger generation? I look at these Gen Z kids today and I don’t even recognize them. They are so incredibly Westernized it’s actually painful to watch. Everything is about “main character energy,” “mental health days,” and “boundaries.”

Whatever happened to filial piety? Last time, we knew our duty was to take care of our parents. Nowadays, these kids treat their elders like an inconvenience or a “toxic” burden. They’d rather spend $15 on an oat milk latte than give their parents a bit of allowance. Their standards for themselves have dropped so low—no resilience, no discipline, just chasing whatever they see on TikTok.

And honestly, the most shocking part is how much their pride has disappeared. Last time, the KTV hostess scene was almost entirely foreigners because Singaporean women actually had some self-respect and dignity. They wouldn’t dream of doing that kind of work.

But now? You go to the KTVs and you see more and more local youngsters working there. These girls will do anything for money just to fund their lifestyle or their next holiday. It’s a complete shift in values—from being a society that valued “face” and hard work, to a generation that has stooped so low they’ll do whatever it takes just for a quick buck.

The values in this country are sliding downhill fast. We used to be a society built on substance. Now? It’s just a bunch of brainwashed kids who care more about “hustling” in the wrong places than keeping their integrity.
