PHV DRIVER FETCH A ‘CHICKEN’ FROM JOO CHIAT TO A FACTORY IN WOODLANDS, “SHE GO THERE DO WHAT”

Sian, today afternoon weather hot like charcoal, then I accept one booking. Pickup point at those classic Joo Chiat shophouse area, drop-off is some ulu factory building in Woodlands Loop.

When the rider open my door, immediately I knew already. The perfume smell so strong it can instantly cure my sinus. She was wearing those ultra-tight bodycon dress, super high heels, heavy makeup—basically the standard “working girl” uniform. Definitely from one of the joints nearby.

The whole ride was damn quiet. She just staring at her phone, texting and talking non-stop in Vietnamese or Thai, I couldn’t really tell. But my brain was doing overdrive the entire CTE and SLE.

Joo Chiat to Woodlands is not cheap leh, peak hour fare easily $35 to $40. If you are going there for normal things, you will take MRT right? So I was thinking… she go a Woodlands industrial estate for what?

A few theories popped into my head:

  1. The “Industrial BMT” (Back Alley Massage Parlour): Did someone set up an illegal brothel inside a rented flatted factory unit? Bro, nowadays rental everywhere so expensive, maybe they pivot to industrial park because cheaper rent and zero nosy neighbours after 6 PM?
  2. Corporate Event / Private Party: Maybe some SME boss hosting a “closed-door” celebration in his warehouse office to entertain big clients or shareholders?
  3. Medical / Visa run: Or maybe she just visiting a friend who lives in one of those dorms nearby? But dress like that to go dorm seems a bit wrong timing.

When we finally reached, it was this super drab, grey industrial building. Mostly engineering workshops and wholesale food suppliers. She stepped out of my car, adjusted her dress, and walked straight towards the cargo lift area like she knew exactly where she was going. No hesitation at all.

Any fellow PHV drivers encountered this kind of routing before? Is Woodlands the new “hidden” red-light district or am I just overthinking? Share your weirdest drop-off stories leh!
