The incident took place along Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 in the direction of Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 at about 5.35pm on May 19, according to the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

Photos circulating on Telegram after the accident showed the rider lying on the road while being attended to by several paramedics. A damaged PAB could also be seen beside him on the narrow two-lane road.

An ambulance stopped in the middle of the carriageway as emergency responders worked at the scene.

Accident Happened Outside Condominium

The collision reportedly occurred outside the entrance of Regent Heights condominium along Bukit Batok Avenue 5.

A security guard believed to be from the condominium was seen directing traffic away from the scene while emergency services attended to the injured rider.

Another image shared online showed a police motorcycle parked near the condominium entrance during the investigation.

The accident caused temporary disruption along the road as motorists slowed down while passing the area.

Rider Taken To NUH In Conscious State

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that the PAB rider was conveyed to the National University Hospital (NUH) in a conscious state.

Police said the rider was a 28-year-old man.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car, identified as a 48-year-old woman, is currently assisting police with investigations.

Authorities have not released further details about the extent of the rider’s injuries.

Growing Concerns Over Road Safety Involving PABs

Accidents involving PABs and other active mobility devices continue to raise concerns in Singapore, especially in residential estates and areas with narrow roads.

Under Singapore regulations, power-assisted bicycles used on public roads must comply with Land Transport Authority requirements, including speed limits and safety standards.

Road safety experts have repeatedly reminded both motorists and PAB riders to stay alert, particularly near condominium exits, junctions, and smaller estate roads where visibility may be limited.

Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
