The incident reportedly occurred on 19 May during an off-show training exercise linked to the park’s popular WaterWorld attraction at Resorts World Sentosa.

According to reports, the performer was believed to have been inside the attraction’s show pool around the time the emergency unfolded.

Fellow Performers Rendered Immediate Assistance

A spokesperson from Resorts World Sentosa confirmed that the affected individual was a performer engaged through an appointed vendor for WaterWorld.

The spokesperson said fellow performers noticed the man was in distress and quickly stepped in to provide assistance before emergency services arrived.

Mothership reported that cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was allegedly administered at the scene before the performer was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

RWS said its thoughts are with the performer and his family, but declined to share further details regarding his medical condition out of respect for their privacy.

RWS Reviewing Circumstances Behind Incident

The resort operator added that training activities are conducted with safety protocols in place and confirmed that a review into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing together with the performer’s employer.

The employer was described as a company specialising in live-action stunt performances.

No foul play has been suggested, and authorities have not indicated whether the incident was linked to a pre-existing medical condition, water-related complications, or another cause.

WaterWorld Already Closed Prior To Incident

According to the Resorts World Sentosa website, the WaterWorld attraction is currently temporarily closed until 31 Dec 2026.

However, reports indicated the closure had already been scheduled long before the medical emergency occurred.

WaterWorld is one of Universal Studios Singapore’s most recognisable live-action stunt shows, featuring explosions, jet ski sequences, diving stunts, and large-scale water effects inspired by the Hollywood film franchise.

The incident has sparked concern among netizens online, with many expressing hopes for the performer’s recovery and praising colleagues for reacting quickly during the emergency.
