A witness who was travelling on a bus that passed the area after the crash said he observed one of the victims lying on the road with a severe leg injury.

According to the witness, another victim was receiving emergency treatment from paramedics at the scene.

However, by the time the bus reached the Malaysian immigration checkpoint, news had reportedly spread that the individual undergoing treatment had succumbed to their injuries.

The accident caused concern among motorists travelling between Singapore and Malaysia, with videos and photographs of the aftermath quickly circulating across social media platforms.

Social Media Users Helped Trace Family Members

Following the accident, members of the Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers Facebook group shared the motorcycle’s registration number online in an attempt to locate the rider’s family.

The online effort generated significant attention, with many users expressing condolences while hoping relatives could be informed as quickly as possible.

According to reports, family members were eventually contacted and later confirmed that the two victims were husband and wife.

Reminder Of Risks Faced By Cross-Border Motorcyclists

The Second Link remains one of the busiest crossings between Singapore and Malaysia, with thousands of commuters using the route daily for work and travel.

Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable on high-speed expressways and bridge crossings, where sudden traffic changes, reduced visibility, and heavy vehicle movements can significantly increase the risk of serious accidents.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the collision, and investigations are expected to continue.

The incident has prompted an outpouring of sympathy online, with many social media users expressing their condolences to the victims’ family and loved ones.

The deaths serve as another sobering reminder of the dangers faced by road users and the importance of remaining vigilant, especially when travelling near heavy vehicles on major transport routes.
