Malaysian Mum-Of-Six Left Fighting For Life After Husband Allegedly Slashes Her 14 Times Over Jealousy

A 40-year-old Malaysian woman is in critical but stable condition after allegedly being attacked by her husband with a parang following an argument over her speaking to a male neighbour.

The victim, a mother of six, reportedly suffered 14 slash wounds across different parts of her body, including her neck, in what police believe was a jealousy-fuelled assault.

Authorities have since launched a manhunt to locate the 50-year-old suspect, who fled after the incident.

Argument Allegedly Sparked By Conversation With Neighbour

According to Malaysian media reports, the attack took place at around 9:30am on Jun. 25 in Sabah.

Police said the suspect, an Indonesian national who had been married to the victim for 19 years, allegedly became enraged after seeing his wife talking to a male neighbour within the compound of their home.

Investigators said the man had previously warned his wife not to speak with the neighbour. However, an argument reportedly broke out after she denied doing anything inappropriate.

Suspect Allegedly Grabbed Parang From Kitchen

Police said the confrontation quickly escalated.

According to the investigating officer, the suspect allegedly went into the kitchen, armed himself with a parang and repeatedly attacked his wife.

The victim sustained 14 slash wounds during the assault, including injuries to her neck. She was later rushed for medical treatment and remains in critical but stable condition.

The woman was eventually discovered lying in a pool of blood by her niece, while a neighbour contacted the police after the attack.

Police Say Jealousy Was Behind The Attack

During preliminary investigations, police said the victim told officers that the assault stemmed from her husband’s jealousy.

Authorities also revealed that the suspect had allegedly accused his wife on multiple occasions of having an affair with their neighbour, accusations that she consistently denied.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

Police have launched a manhunt to track him down, while investigations into the attempted murder case are ongoing.
