If you cannot even wake up early and be on time, don’t dream of becoming rich lah

Wake up your idea, please because the amount of batchies I see giving excuses for being late is damn bloody high. Let’s be real for a second, no filters.

If you are the kind of person who constantly sets ten alarms from 6:00 AM to 6:45 AM, hits snooze on every single one, and finally crawls out of bed at 7:15 AM only to text the group chat “Eh paiseh, MRT delayed” or “Sian, traffic jam, grab surging”… bro, you are destined for financial mediocrity. Full stop. No debate.

Punctuality and the ability to wake up early are the ultimate indicators of whether you will make it big or just grind as a corporate dog forever drawing a mediocre salary, complaining about GST hike every year.

1. Self-Discipline is Free, but You Can’t Even Afford It

Waking up early is literally the lowest bar of self-mastery. If you cannot even control your own eyelids and a piece of software on your iPhone, how are you going to control a business? How are you going to manage an investment portfolio? The market doesn’t care if you are “not a morning person.” While you are still spooning your bolster and dreaming, the future multi-millionaires are already up, clearing emails, analyzing trends, or gymming. They conquer the morning before you even brush your teeth.

2. Time is Literally Money (ROI of Being Early)

People who are always on time respect the grind. Being late means you think your time is more valuable than others. Newsflash: it’s not. In the business world, if you show up five minutes late to a pitch or a client meeting because “alarm never go off,” you are instantly blacklisted. You just flushed a potential six-figure deal down the toilet. Wealthy people look at everything through the lens of efficiency and reliability. If you are consistently late, it tells everyone you are chaotic, disorganized, and untrustworthy. Who will trust you with big money?

3. The “Bo Chup” Mediocre Mindset

The worst part? The excuses. “Oh, I slept late last night.” Then sleep earlier lah! “Oh, the bus took very long to come.” Then buffer an extra 20 minutes lah! This kind of bo chup, passive attitude is exactly why you will stay in the middle tier. You treat your life like a passenger instead of the driver. Rich people take absolute ownership. If they are late, they blame themselves, not the SBS bus driver.

So stop telling yourself it’s just a personality trait. It’s not. Being unable to wake up and being chronically late is a symptom of a lazy, undisciplined mind. If you want that high-SES life, go fix your sleep cycle first. Otherwise, don’t complain when you are stuck in the rat race forever.

TL;DR: Cannot wake up = No discipline = High chance of staying broke. Change my mind.
