Wah piang eh, seriously cannot brain this country anymore. Just need to dump my frustration here because if I don’t talk, I will burst.
So today I was rushing to go to the MRT station, sky already looking super dark like want to pour heavy rain like that. Naturally, I took the shortcut through my block’s void deck. I swear to you, I didn’t sit down, I didn’t loiter, I didn’t even stand still to look at my phone. I just walked past. Total time spent inside the void deck area? Literally 3 seconds.
Then BAM! Out of nowhere, two NEA officers appear like wild Pokémon. Next thing I know, they ask for my IC. I was thinking, “Huh? Did I drop litter? Did I accidentally spit?” No leh. They tell me I violated some random regulation or crossed some designated zone. I try to explain, “Bro, I am just walking through to get to the station, look at the sky, it’s going to rain soon.” But you know them right? Talk to the wall better. Static like robot. Face stone like the Merlion.
Arguments? Totally useless. They just print out the ticket and hand it to me with a straight face. $200 fine. Just like that. Two $100 notes flying out of my wallet for 3 seconds of walking. My hourly wage also don’t have so high sia!
Honestly, nvm la, treat it like I hang flower for NEA. Consider it my charity donation or sponsorship for their upcoming dinner and dance. You want the money so bad, I give you lo. The law is the law, what can we do? We are just small citizens only. $200 pay lo, no choice right? Tomorrow onwards I will walk one big round under the hot sun, even if I melt, I also won’t step into the void deck again.
But seriously, everything also fine, everything also cannot. Next time maybe breathe the void deck oxygen for too long also must pay tax. Singapore really is a fine city. Rant over. Going to go eat my budget $3.50 caifan now to make up for my loss. Contributed to the nation’s GDP today, very proud!
