Singapore Teen Seen Swaying In Middle Of Road, Netizens Suspect Kpod Use
A video showing a teenager standing unsteadily in the middle of a road has sparked concern online, with social media users speculating that the youth may have been under the influence of a Kpod.
The footage, which has been circulating on social media, was reportedly filmed during the morning rush hour on Jul. 8 and later shared by an anonymous contributor.
In the video, the teenager appears disoriented and unaware of his surroundings while standing on a pedestrian crossing, raising concerns about both his safety and that of motorists nearby.
Teen Appeared Unsteady And Disoriented
The footage shows the youth dressed casually in a dark oversized T-shirt, shorts and slippers.
He can be seen swaying while standing in the middle of a crossing, with his head lowered and body hunched forward. At one point, he takes a small step before stopping again, seemingly struggling to maintain his balance.
The exact location of the incident was not disclosed.
According to the individual who submitted the footage, the teenager had allegedly fallen to the ground before the recording began.
The contributor claimed the youth was initially sitting on the road near a phone and vape device before eventually standing up and attempting to regain his composure.
Passers-By Reportedly Unsure How To Respond
The person who recorded the incident said the episode took place during peak commuting hours when many people were heading to work.
They claimed numerous passers-by noticed the teenager’s condition but did not intervene, possibly because they were unsure what had happened or were rushing to their destinations.
The contributor also said they did not personally approach the youth, citing concerns about the situation and time constraints.
The video has since generated significant discussion online, with many questioning why emergency services or the police were not contacted when the teenager appeared to be in distress.
Several commenters argued that seeking assistance should have been prioritised over filming the incident.
Growing Concerns Over Kpods In Singapore
Some social media users speculated that the teenager may have been affected by a Kpod, although there is currently no official confirmation linking the youth to the substance.
Kpods are vape devices believed to contain etomidate, an anaesthetic agent that has become a growing concern among authorities due to reports of users displaying unusual behaviour, impaired movement and reduced awareness of their surroundings.
Singapore authorities have stepped up enforcement efforts against such products in recent months.
From May 1, 2026, etomidate and related substances were classified as specified psychoactive substances under Singapore law.
Individuals caught possessing, using or dealing with vape products containing these substances face severe penalties, including hefty fines and imprisonment.
The Health Sciences Authority has repeatedly warned the public about the dangers associated with such products and continues to investigate cases involving illegal vaping devices.
Public Urged To Seek Help In Emergencies
The incident has reignited discussion about how members of the public should respond when encountering someone who appears to be in distress in public spaces.
While the teenager’s condition remains unverified, many online users stressed the importance of contacting emergency services if a person appears unwell, disoriented or at risk of injury.
Authorities have consistently encouraged members of the public to seek assistance immediately whenever they encounter situations involving potential medical emergencies or public safety concerns.
