MANAGER MADE SUBORDINATE PREGNANT BEHIND WIFE’S BACK

Recently, the entire office was rocked by some top-tier, hot-from-the-oven teh tarik gossip: one of our senior guys had been cheating on his wife with his subordinate, who happened to be an intern. What made it so wild was that many of us actually know the wife—she’s come to our annual D&D and company family days before, so everybody knew exactly who she was.

The way they got caught was honestly mind-boggling. They were spotted engaging in some serious hanky-panky right inside the office pantry. The funniest part? The guy was totally blur sotong. Multiple colleagues walked past the glass panel, saw the whole performance, and he didn’t even realize how blatant they were being.

At first, when the news started circulating on WhatsApp, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it was just standard office bo liao rumor. But after three different people from different departments swore they saw the exact same thing with their own eyes, I knew it was 100% true.

Just when we thought the drama couldn’t get any worse, the real bomb dropped: the intern turned up pregnant.

Once that leaked, the whole situation exploded from a dirty little secret into a full-blown crisis. Honestly, it just felt super ugly and disrespectful. It’s one thing to ruin your own personal marriage, but to drag a young intern into this and bring that kind of heavy drama into the workplace is ridiculously unprofessional.

Naturally, the news spread like wildfire. Every single lunchtime, the only topic at the hawker center was this affair and the impending disaster. The entire office atmosphere became so weird, tense, and awkward. Nobody wanted to confront either of them directly, but everyone was silently judging them whenever they walked past.

I had to take a deep breath and remind myself not to get swallowed up by the circus. In Singapore corporate life, getting too deep into office politics or spreading gossip always comes back to bite you. I decided the best thing to do was just chup diam, take the high road, and stay completely out of it. I focused purely on clearing my own tasks, kept my mouth shut, and let them face the inevitable fallout when HR and the wife finally step in.
