Now this era legs open faster than a bag of potato chips, then my GF drop this bombshell on me last night. I still in shock, need to rant here before I go crazy.
We been dating for almost a year already. Everything was going fine, chemistry super good, talk about future, plan BTO, all that normal stuff. Then last night, we were making out on the sofa, mood was right, things were getting warm… then she suddenly push me away and look at me super serious.
She say: “Babe, I think we should save ourselves until marriage.”
WA LAO EH. My brain immediately blue screen. I thought she joking, so I laugh. But her face straight like marble table.
I ask her why, she say she want to “keep the sanctity of marriage” and make our solemnization day “more special”. Hello??? Sanctity??? We are literally living in 2026, not 1960skampung days! Nowadays people swipe left swipe right, legs open faster than a fresh bag of Calbee potato chips, and she giving me this conservative lecture?
Don’t get me wrong, I respect her, but physical compatibility is super important right? What if we wait 3 or 4 years, go through all the BTO queue, pay the downpayment, sign the paper, then on wedding night find out we totally don’t click sexually? Or worse, her drive is zero and mine is normal, then how? Suffer for the rest of my life or go court filing for annulment because of non-consummation?
I tried to explain my side nicely, say that intimacy is a core part of testing long-term compatibility before making a lifetime commitment. But she immediately black face, say I “only want her body” and that I “don’t love her enough to wait.” Classic gaslighting move, power max.
Now the atmosphere super awkward. She not replying my WhatsApp normally, only giving me one-word answers like “k” and “ok”.
Honestly, I feel very conflicted. She is a great girl otherwise—caring, smart, handles money well. But this no-piak policy is a major hurdle. Am I being a red flag for thinking like this, or is she being totally unrealistic in this day and age? Anyone faced this before? How to handle, or should I just cut loss now before BTO application?
